We Must Discuss Generational Curses

This topic has been on my mind for some time and now is the time to talk about it. Generational curses is something that I didn’t give too much thought to prior to this year and it’s something that I thought was relatively overblown. Some people talk about generational curses in such a prolific way where it made me feel as though this can’t be that serious. That said, I guess I've matured enough to the point where I'm ready to get serious about the subject.

The concept of generational curses made itself real to me this year. Like I just felt like something has been holding me back in life. When I thought about it critically a generational curse that I find particularly poignant is that which is relevant to my romantic relationships. Before I expose myself to the degree that I am comfortable with doing so, let me lay out the foundation for what a generational curse is. A generational curse is a biblical concept that comes from Exodus 20:1-6:

And God spoke all these words: “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. “You shall have no other gods before me. “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.
