For 2025 one of my goals is to read at least four books. I’m currently half way through my second book, “The Art of Seduction” by Robert Greene. In the part of the book where I am currently at, Greene talks about charisma and deploying your charisma for better results in certain interactions. Prior to reading this book I didn’t think too much about charisma. What stood out to me, however, was the realization of charisma’s etymology.
Charisma is the divinely conferred ability to inspire the devotion of others through the mechanisms of grace and favor. This understanding of charisma shifted my perspective because it made me intuit that all of us have charisma. Prior to this understanding I thought charisma was something that only certain people had. And while I do believe that charisma is something you can choose to work on and develop, I also think now that anyone can display charisma. The question of course is, how?
