One thing that life respects is longevity. If you can stay you will succeed. Sometimes success is a funnel. Several go in at the top but only a few drip out on the other side at a time. Sometimes you have to wait your turn. It’s not that you’re not qualified, it just isn’t your time yet. Longevity is the thing that closes the gap between your qualifications and your appointment.

It’s the car trip. Longevity is like being on the road for a drive. How well can you maintain your ability to stay on the road? Because if you can stay on the road you can get to your destination. This is called staying power. Life is an endurance game. We do what we do for 75-80ish years on average then we go do something else. Can you make it to the end of your life?
