A Hobby Vs a Habit Vs a Lifestyle
Before I go over how these things are different let’s highlight how they are the same. At the end of the day a hobby, habit, or lifestyle is simply something you do. Outside of your biological activities, in theory the rest of what you do with your life in any given 24 hours, is up to you. That’s it, that’s the foundation of this topic; what do you do with your time outside of your biological needs? It doesn’t take up too much of your time but it’s interesting enough to keep you engaged and compel you to improve. A good hobby should be a lot of fun seasoned to taste with some challenge. Hobbies for me include playing videogames and cooking. These are things that I like doing at least marginally. They serve as an escape from my day to day, they are challenging from the perspective of technique and ability required, and they are compelling enough for me to want to incrementally improve the relevant skillsets required for each respective activity.
